New Beginnings of Central Florida
New Beginnings of Central Florida (NBCFL) is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness and crisis achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Founded in 2007, NBCFL was established to address the growing need for comprehensive support services in South Lake County, where resources for those facing housing instability remain limited.
Through a holistic, wraparound approach, New Beginnings provides more than just temporary relief—we create pathways to transformation. Our programs include transitional housing for single mothers and their children through New Beginnings Village, supportive housing for men through Joshua’s House, and affordable housing at Woodwinds, a 96-unit community serving low-income families. These housing initiatives are complemented by case management, life skills education, employment support, and access to healthcare and community resources.
In addition to housing, NBCFL operates an emergency food pantry, a crisis hotline, and a homeless diversion program designed to prevent families from entering homelessness whenever possible. Our thrift store serves as both a funding source and a community outreach hub, with the majority of proceeds directly supporting our programs and the individuals we serve.
At the heart of New Beginnings is a commitment to restoring dignity, rebuilding lives, and strengthening our community. By addressing the root causes of homelessness and empowering individuals with the tools and support they need, we are not just meeting immediate needs—we are creating lasting change.
