About Us
South Lake Nonprofit Think Tank has two functions. To create a place where local nonprofits can come together and learn best practices from each other, and come up with innovative solutions for operating and funding a successful nonprofit. SLNPTT also serves as a help directory for the local community seeking assistance.
Having operated a non-profit since 2011 I know the struggles first hand of running a successful organization. Due to the nature of our volunteer organization, we work hand in hand with other nonprofits and realized they were also going through operating challenges. It was as if a light switched on as the idea came to me, wouldn't it be great if we could unite and learn from each other to strengthen our nonprofit community, and share knowledge and training that would benefit our nonprofits.

Where there is unity there is strength!
Come share your vision
Nonprofit impact makes a difference. They provide a way for people to work together for the common good, changing dreams into action. Statistics say America’s 1.3 million charitable nonprofits feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status throughout the borders of our country and beyond. Operating a nonprofit is not easy, nonprofits face many challenges including internal issues as well as external issues. But we can overcome these challenges by embracing the proven wisdom that more can be accomplished by working together than by working in separately.
Educating our community leaders
Everyone in our country benefits from the work of nonprofits in one way or another, whether they realize it or not. It's easy to see the work of a nonprofit if you or your family, friends or neighbors are direct beneficiaries. But what about the unseen, the arts & culture, higher education, environment and animals, healthcare and mental health, human services, faith based and much more. As we come together and share our vision and impact with each other, we want to share this same information with our city officials through an informative workshop. It is important to let our city officials know how our local nonprofits are impacting our community and what our city can do to help.
Benefits of collaboration
There are so many benefits from collaborating, here are a few. Saving on administration costs, working together on joint purchasing or sharing rental facilities. Improving range of services, like one who serves homelessness can partner with one who provides job training. Strengthening advocate voice, by teaming up and collaborating with a like-minded entity, you have the opportunity to bolster your voice when it comes to advocating for your mission. Bringing about new ideas, organizations coming together from different backgrounds and different experiences is the perfect mix for a boat load of new ideas. Our collaborative think tank can create solutions to problems which previously might have gone unsolved.
